Senator Ward moved that the bill be returned to second reading for the purpose of a specific amendment, that being Amendment No. 1. Objections were heard. ROBERT B. ATWOOD BUILDING. The Department of Administration shall make available 6,000 square feet of space in the Robert B. Atwood Building to the Alaska State Legislature for 121 days during 2003 and 2004 for the purpose of holding the First Regular Session and the Second Regular Session of the Twenty-Third Alaska State Legislature." Renumber the following bill section accordingly. Senator Ward moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 1. Senator Elton objected. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 1 be adopted?" The roll was taken with the following result: HB 444 Second Reading Amendment No. 1 YEAS: 4 NAYS: 15 EXCUSED: 0 ABSENT: 1 Yeas: Cowdery, Donley, Phillips, Ward Nays: Austerman, Davis, Ellis, Elton, Green, Halford, Kelly, Leman, Lincoln, Olson, Stevens, Taylor, Therriault, Torgerson, Wilken Absent: Hoffman and so, Amendment No. 1 failed. The bill was automatically in third reading. The question being: "Shall HOUSE BILL NO. 444 "An Act relating to buildings covered under the Alaska public building fund; and providing for an effective date" pass the Senate?" Senator Leman moved and asked unanimous consent that the vote on the passage of the bill be considered the vote on the effective date clause. Without objection, it was so ordered and the bill was signed by the President and Secretary and returned to the House.
